Gillygate Guest House

The location was awesome, just a short stroll away from The Bars. Nice restaurant easy walk to the hotel. I had reasonably priced room with comfortable bed.

Everything here was very good, and the weather was very good, loved it.

This hotel is quiet little and it has perfect staff and location.

The property was special, offered well soundproofed and brand-new rooms. The staff were helpful, and I loved the host. The venue was set in the central position right by centre, restaurants and the train station and the city centre. York Castle Museum was also close to the hotel.

The full English breakfast was plentiful with nice strong coffee and the veggie sausages. Perfect location, within walking distance of National Railway Museum.

This ancient style building is really comfortable. It has beautiful location easy walk to a proscenium theatre.

Possibly the best and brilliant stay in a beautiful historic town. Especially helpful people working here, hearty breakfast.

Location is simply perfect and personnel is always pleasant. The units are stocked, huge. Generous breakfast, exceptional service. As I remember, there were plenty of restaurants to eat, like The Raj that was only 10 minutes' walk away. Pool bar and clean pool.

Exceptionally clean fabulous accommodation with accommodating staff and unbeatable location down the five flights of stairs.

We didn't have time, so we also would come here again.

Top-class room, very friendly professional staff, very lovely building. Very big beds, coffee, climate control and plasma TV were a nice touch. The hotel has so ideal location close enough to city centre and city walls. We had a very pleasant stay overall, would recomand.

The staff was super and the location was top. An easy walk to the good beach. Besides, the property was 1 km away from the city walls. My experience at this unique hotel was excellent.

Prime location, very very helpful personnel and reasonably good breakfast. In the restaurant they served Asian cuisine dishes.

Nice hot breakfast with plenty of options, perfectly fine and fairly clean place. Exceptional staff who was willing to help and answered our questions. We loved a homey decor and fashionable furniture. Very comfy beds, FAB views. A very central location, perfect for a short break.

If we return to York we will choose the place for future trips. Location and staff etc were great. Our twin room was good sized. Furthermore, there was free Wi Fi at the hotel...

The staff were kind and that's why we would definitely recommend it. We appreciated Gillygate, it was nice. The host is great. Our deluxe king room included a stone fireplace, central heating and a clothes rack. York City Centre is a district that deserves exploring.

breakfast is gorgeous and the location is unbeatable. plenty of restaurants to eat close by, like bistro guy that was only 10 minutes' walk away. access to york minster. we really enjoyed our stay in gillygate guest house.
